Illustrations & projects
BY Abby w.
Hi there, I'm Abby!
I am a self-taught artist, designer, & story-teller
who works with digital and printed media.
Art has always played a large role in my life, starting in early childhood when I wanted to draw my favorite Nintendo characters.
Even when I was a practicing structural engineer designing buildings with steel and concrete for over five years, I continued to create more art - whether through illustrations or decorating a cake.
Scroll down or press the
buttons below for examples of
my art & design work.
I am currently writing/illustrating a
comic series titled, MIND GAMES -

RISO
PRINTS
Riso prints are created with the Japanese risograph duplicator machine. The prints are known for their retro offset print-quality, featuring vibrant, layered ink colors, charming misalignments, and an overall soft, grainy texture.
All prints shown were digitally illustrated & riso-printed by me.

WASMUTH LABORATORY 2024
Website redesign for the Wasmuth Laboratory in University of Texas Health at San Antonio. The goal of the new design was to express both academic professionalism and expertise in the unique scientific discoveries being accomplished at the lab. The site’s logo and new design were created by me.
LIGHTEN UP BAKESHOP 2023
An online-based bakery that I created and launched in Fall 2023.
The website’s design combines retro aesthetics with clean modern elements; my goal was to balance bright visuals with soft undertones to parallel the light yet fun treats on the menu. All logos and assets were designed and created by me.

Meet AUSTIN!
Austin grew up in a
hippie commune,
where life was
so wonderful.
A miracle.
It was beautiful.
Magical.
But then they sent him away to Civilization, Ã la 1970's America,
where life was logical, responsible, and full of stuff called "technology".
Nevertheless, he continued
to let his freak flag fly.
He knew he was different
from the 'real' world kids,
but that didn't stop him
from becoming entranced
by their futuristic lifestyle
and electric gadgets...
especially Pac-Man.
But the magic of microwaves
and arcade screens started
to fade one day after they
suddenly began reacting,
flickering, and blipping at his
presence for no reason why -
and no way to control it.
Somehow, electricity
was in tune with, and
now part of him.
Years passed, along with many attempts to reinvent himself, and he came up with new ways to cope with this shocking predicament, sometimes even harness it.
He found that it could even help him too, especially in the machine that is the Digital Age.
It seemed the worst was behind him, and for the first time since childhood, life was pretty alright!
Although...
...he still doesn't know
what's causing it in the first place.
Now,
at the edge
of adulthood,
Austin decides
it's finally time
to take charge
and find out.
